ANOTHER Milestone Unlocked!

Finally it's over. 

This is a pampering event that I proposed to my manager and I told her this time I would like to work by myself. 

Hence, from the idea proposed, present to my manager, email and contact bloggers, RSVP with them, carry out Facebook and Instagram contest, design the contest template, inform contest winners, communicate with salon owner, ready with merchandise to display, set up the pampering event, coordinate and manage the event all by myself with another new intern who came in just a month and now...is finally over. 

Few days before I'm still worrying to the extent, I dreamt that I forgot to attend the event. Lol..

So happy that I've finally made it through and I took the initiative to tell my manager that I want to do it by myself so is like a baby of mine..from planning to execution is all on me. 

Appreciate and thanks that I met a bunch of bloggers who are really friendly and easy going. They are all so sweet and lovely who have made this a success. :-)

I have red hair too! Posted the picture on my Instagram! Red hair with L'Oreal Professionnel INOA Carmilane red colour which has just launched in this month! Which mean this red coloration of mine is Free! Hehe..

My second time of hair coloration ever since I worked in L'Oreal. Previous was dark brown, this time is RED hair! Despite having darker skin tone, I can still have red hair! Love it!

I have been away for so long. Just back for a random post. Don't want to neglect it for too long. There is a blogger I look highly upon who is VivyYusof. I always ask myself she has so many commitments yet she manage to update her blog regularly but why can't I? Guendeline, reasons banyak banyak la..

This is the update of these recent weeks. I have my HAIR COLOURED! Soo happy! It is FREE and I'm using L'Oreal Professionnel colour that frequently use by hairstylists in salon! So great! 

Who wants to have your hair coloured free and you are available during weekday in KL, do let me know. We will need hair models regularly so feel free to drop me a message or email if you are interested!

It used to be like this, ugly right?! Gold colour, yucks! Don't bleach your hair, if not you will turn out like mine! The gold base is always there. ><

Lynn from UM. A girl used to be my blog reader. She left me a comment in my blog then later on she followed me in Twitter then now we are friends! Lol..long story! I invited her as well for the hair colour training. She has virgin hair and she loves the outcome! 

Few days later, went to Harper's Bazaar event. Working in PPD managed to attend magazine events or all kinds of exclusive invited events but erm..I need to buy clothes whereby is so expensive! High maintenance ahh...

Then is my fourth week in KL so is time to go back home! I will be back once a month. :-)
Last two weeks was my dad's birthday so we had dinner in Yea First Avenue cz all the buffet dinner in hotel are fully booked.

L'Oreal Professionnel HAIRchalk 2014

Hello! Long time no see..I almost forgot I am a blogger. Lol..When I attend event I don't tell or introduce myself as a blogger..no no no..such a rude introduction! :p I just tell them humbly, I am the new marketing intern for L'Oreal Professionnel. 

By the way, I guess many of you knew that I am working with L'Oreal but you have not been told which brand I am working with. Hehe..it is L'Oreal Professionnel aka LP! Honestly, before I joined in I have no idea what L'Oreal Professionnel do, I even thought it is the same like L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise selling in Watson and Guardian..*haha..I know many of you are having the same thought right now*

Actually LP is not doing any similar like L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise. It is available in salon only. Yup, to those hair salon, so you don't see them in drugstore. It is similar like Kerastase, only selling and available in hair salon. So most of the time, I'm dealing with hair salon which is something new to me! 

I love my internship! So fun! I share them in Dayre. I can have various activities to write in my logbook instead of doing the same thing over and over again! And I managed to attend lots of launching and magazine events. Get to meet celebrities, editors, salon founder, so on and so forth! Seriously an eye opening experience and of course, everytime I tell people I'm the new intern with L'Oreal they will tell me "good luck la, you will be really busy!" Lol..should I be happy or what?! Haha..

Long story cut short. *Just let me drag on longer la, long time didn't blog what* Lol..

Bloggers pampering event at Centro Hair Salon, The Gardens. Have been knowing them for quite some time and finally there comes the chance to visit their salon. Feels so different to attend event as a representative of a brand instead of a blogger. XD

HAIRchalk is the product launching that I'm currently doing. There are five colours available in L'Oreal Professionnel hair salon during March. So end users will be able to try them out in salon or bought it back and DIY at home. 

There are five colours available, violet, pink, turquoise, orange and blue. So, normally hairstylists put it on with sponge, but for home user we have the applicator for you or you can definitely use a random brush *used toothbrush*, anything that suits you.

By the way, it goes like this. First, you apply the hairchalk. It is different with the usual one selling in the market. Theirs are chalk but ours are in liquid form. So after you apply it on hair, comb it to prevent tangle, wait for a minute then blow dry. After that apply hair oil or serum then you will be good to go! Easy? Hehe..if you want intense colour then apply more layer.

She is Julia. I love her hair. Hairstylists in Centro Hair Salon are really attentive. They are being so patient to dye every strip to have beautiful rainbow hair colour. I rarely see hairstylist in salon who are so attention to details. For those who are considering for a haircut, you can really think about Centro, The Gardens. Btw, KLCC has another branch. 

If you tied braid with this hair, it would be extremely pretty! You can achieved this hair colour without bleaching, how great it is! 

HAIRchalk can lasts 4 to 5 washes but depends on your hair condition. Many have tried out and really lasts longer than it supposed to be. The more colour you put, the darker your hair, the smoother your hair, the longer it lasts! It won't stain on your pillow and towel as well. Fret not, it is non-transferable!

p/s If you bought it back, it is advisable to use only a strip rather than the entire hair. If you think it is dry or frizzy at the colour strip if you happen to DIY at home, then put on Mythic Oil at the colour strip then would be smooth and shine again. :-)

Let's experience this during March then you will be amazed by the results! 

Perhaps, you can buy this yourself from salon that are selling LP products then DIY before heading to party or whatsoever! If you love the colour then hang in there, if not you can have Mythic Oil put directly on the colour strip then you can remove it easier and faster. 

Super convenient la I tell you! Especially to the IT girls, this is definitely a must item for you! Just one strip then you can stand out among the crowd!

What I have been up to lately

Hello all, it has been so so long since my last update! Haven't been "talking" to my blog and you guys for nearly a month. Yup..a month already, I have been away for so long.

Anyway, the entire month has been a productive one. I'm here to have a short update on what I've been doing and busy lately.

I have done with my final paper on the 16th of Jan then the next day I am off to Hong Kong for my graduation trip. I don't even have the luxurious time to blog about my Hong Kong trip. Lots of nice food we had but doesn't have the chance to share with you guys! Too bad..:-(

Right after the trip, I have been busy doing chores in KL and back to Penang one day before reunion dinner.

Celebrated Chinese New Year for a few days and unfortunately this year I have to leave home really early to begin my internship on the 3rd of Feb.

Today marked the 3rd day of my internship.

So far so good. I love the tasks that have been assigned to me. The project brief for my internship is really interesting! I believed if I love my job then I wouldn't feel tired of it. Time really flies when you are busy at work and I have plan to stay back a little longer in office everyday, one thing is to skip the jam, the second thing is to learn as much as possible and pick things up quickly in these 6 months.

I have been told there are some upcoming media pampering events in the mid of Feb, I am so excited for it! Hopefully I manage keep this fire burning through the internship.

I may not have so much time to update my blog but I will try, really try not to neglected it. Darling said he is still hoping to see me blog cz the house has TIME Fiber Optic internet which is like 10 times faster than streamyx and unifi! Haha..cool!

Who knows I may blog about the media pampering events that I am handling soon?! :p There are bloggers and celebrities as well but I am not sure who have been invited to the event. Feeling so different to attend media event as a marketer representing the brand instead of a blogger. Lol..

Anyway I am anticipating for more exciting events coming up soon! Will keep you guys updated!

Chaos!

Funny post with Guen's on Intern #3!

Talaa...I was very moody few days back..but after yesterday outing with the sweetheart Mei Xun, I was feeling much better d!

Moody because I have received my offer letter..The very turn off offer letter that needed me to work since the 4th day of Cny, which means Chu 3 I need to head down to KL! What's life?!!! Okay..this is life! Working life..Guendeline, say bye to student life, say hi to working life!

I am so upset when I knew this..Wai Yee was sitting beside me and I keep petting her arm..telling her.."I need to start working on the 4th day of Cny..I am extremely down..I need one week to recover..bla bla bla.."

Then back home still very down..lol..I told my mum, she looks kind of upset too cz the first time her daughter leaving home to work *for so long, apparently only come back once in a while* and need to leave during cny..Chinese New Year is the longest holiday my parents had in a year so they certainly hope their children can be around, but shit me, first internship aka job, to me, need to leave home in chu 3! Not even have time for gathering with my relatives and bf's relatives!

Anyway good thing la..received offer letter..meaning you are not jobless and someone wants you..should be happy then..I received two offers from FMCG, two offers from Advertising agency, ended up I pick one of the FMCG. Great! Problem solved! I'm totally ok now..kind of excited that I am working soon and work with the company that I pray hard I could get in some day. 

That night itself I date Mei Xun out..have a heart to heart talk together on Thursday since many of my assignment submission date has been postponed to next week! Lol..*procrastinate mode on again lo* =="

We went to Lunarich for lunch, I still love their lunch menu, free flow salad and soup. Not taking pictures for that.

Then decided to go Brown Pocket since everyone hype about that. I didn't order immediately cz I plan to browse through the #brownpocketdessert pictures people hash tag in Instagram, but I don't find anything pleasing. So after Mei Xun finished her Americano, we went to Chocolate Passion! Hehe..she told me there is a dessert named Chocolate Bomb, if not mistaken is from Chocolate Passion cz we can't find it from Brown Pocket menu.

This is the one that we mentioned! Although priced the same like dessert in Brown Pocket but I find it more creative in terms of presentation la, brown pocket is overrated..sien..only waffle, ice cream, whip cream and that's it. Sorry I don't buy that..lol..

Then later on I told Mei Xun we go Sephora before heading off! Guess what..they are having 20% member sales storewide! Crazy shopping spree! I can't resist when it comes to cosmetics and skin care..luckily I work for the right industry! Lol..I know the consumer behavior..cz I am one of them of course I understand clearly! Lol..

Flake Away scrub present from my dear Sin Wah..thanks dear! Bliss lid+lash wash make up remover I have mentioned how awesome it is in my previous post with eye make up remover swatches, read it if you haven't! The best eye make up remover in town! Then Tarte primer! Really impressive..I did a comparison in the store with other products swatches..think it is better than Benefit! This is the only waterproof primer in Sephora! Yayy..finally bought myself a primer!

I will go with mummy again..she wants to buy Clinique skin care..20% off leh..must buy if you use them! Yet point accumulated! *evil grin* girls always have tons of excuses when it comes to shopping! When I called Mr. Yeap told him about that, you know what he said...

Me: Dear ah, I am in Sephora! They have 20% member sales storewide ah! I am going crazy soon! 
Him: Very easy ah, turn around and leave the shop lo..
Me: ==" oh ok..

I rarely update my blog recently because I think too much..I thought I shouldn't post for the sake of publish and gain traffic..I should publish anytime when I wish! Planning a trip before start working..I can foresee I won't have time for travel in the coming days. ><

Tears of Happiness or Unhappiness?

Actually I'm quite upset now.

I know it has been so damn long for never updating my blog and I have tons of work waiting for me to get them done once I arrived in Penang.

I know it is my fault for procrastinating all the assignments and do it so last minute but that is part of student life right? Rarely heard someone said they have completed one or two weeks ahead before the submission date. If you are one of them, you deserve to be credited.

I'm so upset reason being my 17 years of student life has almost come to an end. I know I should be anticipating the excitement of working life and is time to step out of my comfort zone to unleash the potential in me.

Ya I should be glad that I got short listed and successfully enter the company that I am desired for BUT at the same time it tells you, hectic life begins soon and welcome me with a big big hand. Oh gosh..right after my intern then that's it, the real working life is awaiting me.

Apparently I left 2 weeks before submission deadline of 5 to 6 assignments *next weekend heading to Ipoh with course mate, if I am not joining then I have no idea when will be the next meet up*, 5 weeks before study week begins, 8 weeks before my 15 days of holiday begins *but I don't think I have any time for travel as I need to prepare for accommodation and settled down in KL before the internship starts on 1st of Feb*, 10 weeks before my internship starts then..bye bye student life! 

Ahhhhhhh!

I should be given enough time to get me mentally prepare about this since I'm doing 4 years course but don't know why at this moment I don't really feel like leaving. May be staying in comfort zone for too long already. :-(

My internship will be damn hectic and busy, I don't know whether am I going to have time to juggle between work, blog, personal interest, relationship, family, so on and so forth.

Guen, finally, the day has come. If you have never counted how many days left, you wouldn't know how much time you still left spending in university.

Things that you want has come true. Working in your desired company, manage to see your bf nearly everyday, new life begins.....but why are you not happy instead?

Perhaps I need more time to get used to it. Transition period I would say. Ok, transition period..luckily I have him and my family who always back me up. Thanks to my family who has always been a great supporter for me. My mum is more nervous than me when I went for the interview. She really hope to see me doing well in my career. I hope I did not disappoint her and my dad.

Appreciate for all the opportunities given. I'm blessed to have 4 years interesting university life, interesting and lovely people that I have met, thanks for the guidance and toleration from all the lecturers, thanks for giving me this learning platform which allows me to groom myself and grow at the same time. With all these experience gained, it leads me to work with the company that I'm desired for.

How about you? Have you reflected what you have done in this 4 years? Have you found the company that you love to work with? What do you think you will miss after leaving USM? I'm gonna walk around to snap the beautiful campus before leaving.

I will try to do my best to juggle between so many things after settled down in KL. Give me some time to step out of my comfort zone. Is time to grow.

Guen's on Intern #2

Yayy..just received an email from a company that I'm desired for at 5.58pm on the 1st of Nov '13! Hmm..wonder why are they staying up so late even it is on Friday evening. Anyway, appreciate for replying me..I have been waiting for so long! Please call me soon..I will prepare well for the interview!

On top of that, I received a job offer but too bad it is not the department that I chose during the interview session. Anyway, I'm grateful for that. I will hold off this offer till the expected date to reply. :-)

Hopefully I can hear from more companies. What Mr. Y said is right..I should give them more time, can't expect them to reply my email in few days time as they have priority in handling their emails. More time more time, give them more time.

Will update regularly on my progress! This topic will continue till one day I start working as an intern and blog about life working as an intern! Hehe..;-)

Guen's on Intern #1

I think I should mark down my Internship application journey so that one day when I read back I know exactly how I feel at this moment. Lol..

People usually keep to themselves without sharing it with coursemate cz they are afraid their friends might submit their resume and unintentionally competing with them. However, I would think that there are many factors determine on the decision made by the employer, for example whether the aim and value of yourself fit in the company's culture and so on. It is not solely based on our academic and outstanding curricular activities and soft skills. Sometimes it depends on luck though.

10 days ago *21st October 2013*, I have sent my application to FMCG companies mainly based in KL. No updates from them. Then you will give yourself lots of excuses, ==" may be they need more time, may be my resume has not been seen, it has been keep in view, so on and so forth. Hmm....

Thoughts has been running through my mind. Should I apply to those industry that I'm not interested or solely follow up with companies that I'm interested and keep waiting? After all, I decided to on hold applying with FMCG companies then I will just follow up closely and cater my application specifically for the companies that I'm interested.

Then my next target would be Advertising industry. Is very important to stand out and sell yourself in the cover letter when you talk about applying job with advertising agency. Is not the professional corporate cover letter and resume we should send to them, instead I shall be thinking out of the box on how to impress the employer, what is my selling point, what is the speciality of myself, what makes them think twice about this candidate and bla bla bla...hopefully I can do well on this!

Finger cross that luck is with me. Will update it regularly on my progress. Good luck to myself! :-)
