How Are You Doing?

Wow..it has been so long since my last update. A long 6 months huh...

How's everyone doing? I am all well. Working in an industry that I wanted badly and company that I desired for. No regret so far and I love what I'm doing now. Is something that I enjoy doing it and learning new things, trying to overcome my fear and stepping out of my comfort zone, trying to change lots of bad habit.

Apparently my daily routine is going to work, come back from work, constantly looking at my phone *part of my job, lol, can you guess what am I doing?*, eat, shower and sleep. Guess everyone is doing the same thing right..lol..No workout, purely because of my laziness, that is why I'm growing horizontally. T.T

Life has been amazing thus far. I make new friends (they are really nice), have a bunch of lovely and nice colleagues, travelled to Japan, have a stable relationship, have a place to stay in KL, so on and so forth. I couldn't ask for more. ^^

I have changed so much since then. I have learnt to see things in a new perspective. Talking about blogging, I no longer blog for the sake of updating. Don't really like to blog about food or beauty as well cz I don't want to make blogging as an obligation. I will only blog when I feel like doing it. Aiya, no one bother to read also la right..lol! Blog traffic is not my main concern as well. Anyway, I am not doing this for a living.

I am blessed with what I've got. Will learn to make full use of everyday. Learn to take ownership of my work. I still have goals, I have dream, I know what I want, I hope I can keep my passion burning.

So, how are you doing? I hope you are doing well, shining in your field and most importantly live happily! Stay strong guys..

Penang food is the BEST!

Hey, you guys know that I am a typical Penangite. I blogged a lot about food in Penang in the past two years and I have moved to KL lately.

Apparently, food is the only thing that I can't stand with living in the city. Have been taking lots of local food, i.e. hawker food but none of it to my liking. Worst still, majority are prepared by foreigners. Sigh. I doubt where are the good food.

So I have been searching for local food in Foursquare when I visit to new places but I either left with disappointment or the food is just average. On top of that, I am feeling totally overhyped after trying Imbi Market food. *got so nice?*

Hence, sometimes I have no choice but to dine in restaurant because of the mediocre local food. Anyway, not all cafes and restaurant food are nice though and they are expensive.

I eat to live now. ==" So I always anticipate my next Penang trip. Don't bother to try new food in fact crave for the food that I used to take everyday.

*****

I give you an example that happened recently.

Few days before, I was searching for local food at KL town area. And I stumbled upon this place in Foursquare. I was not amazed by the rating because 7.1 is really low, in fact what draws my attention are the comments below.

IMG_1154

Everyone were saying the food here is so great so awesome! BEST Claypot fish head in town! BLOODY GOOD fish noodle!

IMG_1155

BEST fish head noodle! BEST in town! *so kua jiong* BEST! How can you skip this if there are so many BESTsss?! Lol. Therefore I had totally forgotten about the 7.1 rating then headed straight to this place.

IMG_1157

The food looks quite good right?

IMG_1146

Wah sizzling hot! The colour makes me thought of Penang 王昭君 claypot noodle. *somehow Wang Zhao Jun is so much better* Yet I love milky flavour soup so I can't wait to try. *start eating*

IMG_1147

However, I can't finish the noodle. *sorry for the dirty table :p*

The soup is so blend. I don't know what is so nice about this. I don't understand why people can relate this to awesome or best. So once again, disappointed.

IMG_1150

I don't even dare to try the fried fish head cz he said it has strong fishy flavour.

IMG_1151

There were actually more customers before this picture was taken.

IMG_1152

IMG_1153

Okay, so what now?

Lesson learnt.

1. Don't trust Foursquare rating and comments completely and visit with high expectation.

2. KL people and Penangites food preferences are so different. Food that are always recommended and favourited by them, Penangite usually finds it different.

3. No matter how nice is the food, you will still miss the food in your hometown!

People from KL are always annoyed by us as we never stop complaining food here. *sorry guys* But please have some sympathy on us for working away from hometown, surely our local food are dearly missed. Is exactly like you miss nasi lemak, Indian food when you travel overseas.

So, 外坡*吉隆坡*的月亮比較圓,其實也沒有那麼圓而已啦!

What I've been UP to lately

Oh hi,

Busy with so many things. Not so busy to that extent where I don't get to breathe la..still have some time to rest though.

How are you guys doing? Anyone missing my blog here? Lol..I bought MacBook is to make my blogging easier, in fact this boyfriend keep using my laptop to study and prep for his coursework so is like changing ownership now. ==" Anyway I'm more than willing to lend it to him, make full use of this laptop what..I don't want it to turn rusty setting aside.

Recently, I am busy with a HUGE project. Not gonna tell. Nothing related to work lol. Don't guess. *waste your effort* I did tell some of my close friends, they knew what I'm doing. Shh..I am low profile, give me some private life. *may be no ones ever bother what I'm doing though* Haha..

Then go for cafe hopping! Is kind of wasted when I spent money visiting to cafe but not making full use of every penny spent. Lol..I should blog and share it with you what. I think moving forward, I will blog about cafes/restaurants that I've visited. A simple one will do. Not going to do a complete blog post like how I did last time. You can easily google if you want to read a complete entry about a particular cafe. Or Foursquare. This is what I'm doing recently. Lol..Foursquare gave you genuine reviews cz those are not paid/sponsored post. *ugly truth*

The Last Polka Salted Gula Melaka ice cream tasted exactly ike cendol! Lol..

This Durian Pancake is the BOMB! I'm going to try Cempedak Pancake soon! Is from Sumptuous at Great Eastern Mall.

IMG_0681
Delight Deli in Penang. Have gave them feedback on the food, hope they can improvise accordingly. Despite of that, their food is actually quite good. Pay them a visit guys.

IMG_0604
Honestly speaking, their Pie is quite decent. Worth a try. I love Chicken and Mushroom filling.

IMG_0079
Wondermama! Their breakfast price is reasonable! I love the Mee Siam! Always a local delight person.

Korean buffet at Solaris Mont Kiara. Recommended.

p.s Do you miss me blogging about food? Lol..*thick skinned*

Reading. I love spending time reading on weekends or whenever I can. Is never too late to indulge in reading right? Here are the 10 benefits of reading. Bought a lot of books from Big Bad Wolf book fair. Must make full use of them! New year resolution! Yayy..

Working. Ahh..no more student life. I have reconciled myself to this life. Don't think about school holidays. What I'm anticipating is the next public holidays, getaways, and so on. It makes me appreciate my holidays even more.

Apart from the holiday, working life is no kidding. There are so much challenges awaiting. Buckle up guys, is a whole new level compared to your student life. Forget about being the best student in class, President or whatsoever in club/society, the chairperson of University Student Council and so on. When it comes to work, no ones ever recall what you have done in the past (besides interview). You have got to learn everything all over again. You are the freshest in the company, hence, be humble and proactive, don't lose your passion. Passion keeps you going. I'm reminding myself constantly though.

Is a brand new year. I am sooo old. 25 years old. Oh gosh..mid 20!

One of my resolutions for 2015,
Revive my blog! Expect to see me come back in mid of the year. I hope I keep my words too!

Till then!

I wish you have a great year ahead! Xoxo..

5 Top Beauty Shopping Tips for the Lovelies!

Hey lovelies, I have a few simple tips for the beauty junkies out there. All these tips are based on my personal experience, hope it helps!

1. Check Out Manufacturing Date
I will advise you to check out every product's expiry date before you make purchases especially sales item. There are always sales/clearance for make up/skin care products due to two reasons.

Scenario 1
Make up/skin care is categorise as fast moving consumer goods so for instance if there is new mascara released in the market then it is very likely to see promotion for the existing mascara.

Scenario 2
Clear stock. They want to clear the stock on hand for the existing mascara to bring in the new one to the market.

p/s Manufacturing date is relatively important for mascara compared to other make up products as it may dried up a little and isn't perform as good as before if it has been kept too long.

2. Label the Date of Consumption
Label the date you started to consume the product with a sticker on it. Every products have its lifespan. If you see the below logo in your products, that means you can only used up to 12 months once the cap has opened.

Scenario 1
A girl usually own a few lipstick. Hence is best to label the date when you started using it, of course you don't wish to use a lipstick that has keep for more than two years.

3. Test It Before You Buy
This is so true when it comes to foundation.

Scenario 1
I always go to brand counter at departmental store to try out foundation before I purchase. Firstly, I need to make sure I have chosen the right shade. Secondly, will the products oxidised on my skin? If foundation oxidised on your skin, the make up will turned one shade darker or orange after application.

Scenario 2
I understand everyone loves to try mascara especially in Sephora. Always get a new mascara wand from SA. It is very unhygienic if you use the mascara wand straight onto your lashes.

4. Do Not Be Skeptical Towards Brand, Product Efficacy Always Come First
It is not necessary that high end products are always good. Look for a product that suits you best instead of believing in the product claims on advertisement or commercial. *Trust me, I study marketing.

Some products may suits your friend but it doesn't suits you or vice versa. Be a smart consumer unless you have lots of money to spare.

5. Never Follow Blog Reviews Blindly
Many people doesn't do judgement by themselves.

If 5 bloggers tell them this product is good then they will opt for it already. You never checked whether is this a sponsored review, paid review or whatsoever.

Recently there are many young girls like to become bloggers, they are not really giving constructive review, in fact they just took a few selfie then blog exactly according to the press release instead of providing their honest feedback. *because it is a paid review

Hence, you can't really judge whether is this product really does what it promised based on blogger reviews especially from the amateur bloggers. Try to listen from two-sided, be it good or bad then judge and evaluate it by yourself. Please don't follow blindly, is really saddening to see so many bloggers emerging but really little of them are quality ones.

Ultimately, everyone just wanted to pay for products that provide highest quality of all. Hence, I hope these tips/tricks help you in selecting your best cosmetics and skin care products!

Enjoy shopping! I love buying beauty products. *wink
