Went to lunch with *dear* Sin Wah this Thursday..we forgot to take pictures! Ishh...just managed to captured all the food pictures..lol..

We went to Western Spices for lunch as there is cash voucher promotion in Living Social..haha! Knew this restaurant long ago but never try their food before. Since they have 50% off cash voucher so made up our mind to dine in for our lunch..

We have RM80 in total so we order the food "chun chun" *exactly* that amount of money. Lol..

Vegetables underneath the wrap is not so fresh and the quesadillas tasted normal..fyi they served 3 pieces only..

Mushroom or pumpkin soup baked with puff pastry

We think the pumpkin soup is very rich so if you can't accept the smell or taste of pumpkin soup then better order mushroom soup. We share but can't finish it all, I think if ordered mushroom soup then I should be able to settle it! Lol..

And the pastry weird weird one..outside is crispy but inside is a layer of crust which tasted like it doesn't cook completely. Haha..

Chicken Delight

Chicken served with homemade spicy sauce with Rice & Bean. Specialty for Spicy lovers!!

Both of us don't really know how to describe this. Lol..erm..the sauce like some mixed up spices..it is not the spicy extract from chilli..like some rempah type of sauce. Anyway I don't like it la..haha..then the rice like brown rice but it is not exactly brown rice..so overall to me 4 out of 10 point in total! 

Chicken Delight

Grilled Chicken Drumstick with our homemade mango sauce. Served with mashed potato & veggie.

I prefer this than Nick's Special due to the mango sauce but also so so only la..:-) nothing much special.

But the presentation of mashed potato impressed us..haha!

The good thing about purchasing this voucher is to dine in a fine dining ambience lo..but frankly speaking I won't visit during normal days without promotion. :-)

The Living Social Deal that we bought! One day remaining..you can order any food from the menu, they have plenty of choices so if you are interested then go ahead, may be other food is nice..who knows? Hehe..Menu is available in the website. Aware of the terms and conditions okay..:-)

A'more di merrier At Italiannies Gurney Paragon

Was looking for some nice place to catch up with the girls, have no idea where to choose already, although people always say Penang has lots of good food but I really run out of ideas on any new places for gatherings or dinner at this moment. Anyone has any good recommendations? Lol..mind to share with me? 

I knew many cafes and restaurants in Penang but I don't really intend to try them all unless it is highly rated or recommendation by friends.  

So, last week as usual girl friends was asking me where to eat..lol..thinking of going to Sushi Zento or Italiannies Paragon. Heard that food in Italiannies KL was nice so we have made up our mind to go for Italiannies. Anyway it was a pleasant experience dining here. 

First you will be served with french toast dipped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Those Italian style starter..lol! Is my first time trying it, not bad actually. Mei Xun keep adding the vinegar cz she claimed that the vinegar tasted too mild. Lol..

Chicken Milanese *Signature*

Grilled chicken breast served over cream spinach, then topped with chilled tomato caper relish.

This is the Piccolo size for a person's serving, if you intend to share with others then is better for you to order regular for two person servings! Mei Xun loves her meal but to me it was an above average. :-)

Seafood Risotto *Signature*

A medley of seafood sauteed in white wine, with Arborio rice simmered in mussels and clam broth.

Oh my god, I mad love this! I never try Risotto from other Italian restaurants but this is really my favourite so far. The risotto fully absorbed the white wine so every mouthful is heavenly flavoursome! Clam juice adds a rich seafood taste to the cooking broth and the seafood itself releases liquids when cooked that are absorbed into the rice finishing the dish with a deep flavour. Awesome la..I liked it! Will go back again for sure just for the Seafood Risotto! Lol..Superb!

See how huge difference is the portion comparing both of us! Lol..The Seafood Risotto is mine and the right one belongs to Mei Xun. That's the reason why you see different figure of us! Lol..I have no choice cz mine has only one type of serving!

Spaghetti and Meatballs *Signature*

Italiannies famous huge homemade beef meatballs, served with spaghetti in our signature marinara sauce. 

Cheng ordered chicken that is why you don't see meatballs here so I can't share with you how it taste. Anyway, this is a piccolo size but serving is huge. The perfectly cooked pasta is firm but not hard with a slight bite. Anyone who had tried their homemade meatballs before is most welcome to share your experience with us in the comment box! We would like to know how it taste! ^^

Overall it was a pleasant experience and we don't manage to try their pizza as we can't finish them all! I will certainly go back again!

It was unexpected to see the restaurant is nearly full during Friday night cz usually I don't see people in there when I passed by. Lol..So, to secure a best spot, I would advise you to make a reservation for an enjoyable dining!

Another place that I would recommend for nice pasta would be from Bella Italia..most of the Penangites know that, if you crave for pasta, go for Bella Italia! Lol..*sounds like their tagline*

Heaven Gate Wine.Dine.Leisure at Georgetown

Had a last minute gathering last week at Heaven Gate with secondary school friends. Just about to update cz just came back from KL. Did some quick shopping at Bukit Bintang as new year is approaching..:-) 

Heaven Gate is a dining and entertainment house lounge in Penang. Heaven Gate will provide a combination of excellent yet affordable food, with a classic and fun atmosphere. A heritage building designed based on an elegant Rome setting furnished with ancient style tables, chairs, and rainbow bar made from white rubber wood. The chef's speciality menus are definitely food of high quality sold at a reasonable price, and it sure to satisfy all customers. - Heaven Gate

Indeed, it is really a nice chilling and dining place Their service is attentive and the servers are friendly and courteous. We have made a right choice to dine in here. *joyful*

The second floor is the lounge and ground floor would be the restaurant. The appearance of the entrance would make you think that they served expensive food indeed it is not. They will provide you a fine dining experience with affordable and reasonable pricing. 

Heaven Gate is located at the same row with The Sire Musuem, somewhere near to Penang City Hall and Esplanade.

King Street is just opposite Dewan Sri Penang.

They served Set Lunch as well and Happy Hour for buy one free one beer from 3pm to 8pm. I have seen the menu and is really worth of price. You should go try it out! :-)

The colourful bottles are the signature design. It makes the interior looked more chic elegance.

Anyway we love how it tasted and it smells fragrant and sweet.

Red Wine Toast Chicken. Seasoning roast chicken with herbs honey and red wine done with potato and salad.  

The portion is huge with the roasted chicken and a few side dishes. We love the presentation of the food and you can see they even putting effort in decorating the cherry tomatoes. :-)

Francaises Poulet Epice RM22.90

Spicy Grilled Chicken. Grilled chicken breast with herbs and spicy done with sweet potato and salad.

She loves her main course. The meat is not really rough.  

Saveur de Haricot Saumon Poele RM28.90

Flavour Bean Pan Seared Salmon. Pan seared salmon done with wine and honey. 

I told you their food presentation is nice right? Too bad Lee Yin claimed that the salmon has fishbone. Perhaps if you wanted to try, you may request to them to serve you other parts of the salmon which has less fishbone. 

Rouge de Poulet Chop Vin RM21.90

Red Wine Chicken Chop. Seasoning chicken chop with honey and red wine done with sweet potato and salad. 

She is happy with her food. Same goes to us.

The second floor lounge. Cosy interior and sofa. You can chill out with friends if you don't know where to head to after dinner instead of mamak, Bed or Twelve Cups..lol! Cz they open everyday until 12am, Friday and Saturday even until 1am. 

Xbox provided as well! So held your private party here la like birthday bash with your friends. Besides that, they will have live band soon, it will be available after Chinese New Year so you say nice or not..lol!

I seldom have candid shot which is nice although I know I looked fat here! That is the truth I know..that is why going for gym..read about my review to gym la! Enjoy eating is my motivation to exercise! Lol..a reverse principle from others! XD

Highlight of the night. Received a complimentary Marble Cheese Cake from the manager. The Cheese Cake is marvellous, they said this is one of their signature. The whole piece is purely cheese without any baked cookies. Sometimes it comes with the Set Dinner. You should try it out. Yummylicious!

Had a great night with the girls. We should hang out again someday! Hehe..Love you all! ♥

We would like to recommend their signature Roast Goose Breast. It is their exclusive house speciality. It is crispy, juicy and sweet goose breast gets quick roast with shallots, carrots and sweet potatoes, and served with a specially made wine sauce. The manager said some of the customers will call to order it in advance so that they won't missed it when they visit. If you wanted to try it out, better make a reservation prior visit so that you won't be disappointed! The Roast Goose Breast cost RM58. 

On the other hand, they serve Set Dinner as well. The Set Dinner cost RM78+ with Soup of The Day, any main course selection from the menu *you can even order from their speciality menu such as apple chutney lamb chop, beef liver sausage roll, roast deer thigh, spicy spider crab and so on*, a glass of wine and dessert of the day. To avoid disappointment, you may call for reservation and order the main course in advance cz the speciality menu may prior to availability due to the seasonal stock.
