Funny post with Guen's on Intern #3!

Talaa...I was very moody few days back..but after yesterday outing with the sweetheart Mei Xun, I was feeling much better d!

Moody because I have received my offer letter..The very turn off offer letter that needed me to work since the 4th day of Cny, which means Chu 3 I need to head down to KL! What's life?!!! Okay..this is life! Working life..Guendeline, say bye to student life, say hi to working life!

I am so upset when I knew this..Wai Yee was sitting beside me and I keep petting her arm..telling her.."I need to start working on the 4th day of Cny..I am extremely down..I need one week to recover..bla bla bla.."

Then back home still very down..lol..I told my mum, she looks kind of upset too cz the first time her daughter leaving home to work *for so long, apparently only come back once in a while* and need to leave during cny..Chinese New Year is the longest holiday my parents had in a year so they certainly hope their children can be around, but shit me, first internship aka job, to me, need to leave home in chu 3! Not even have time for gathering with my relatives and bf's relatives!

Anyway good thing la..received offer letter..meaning you are not jobless and someone wants you..should be happy then..I received two offers from FMCG, two offers from Advertising agency, ended up I pick one of the FMCG. Great! Problem solved! I'm totally ok now..kind of excited that I am working soon and work with the company that I pray hard I could get in some day. 

That night itself I date Mei Xun out..have a heart to heart talk together on Thursday since many of my assignment submission date has been postponed to next week! Lol..*procrastinate mode on again lo* =="

We went to Lunarich for lunch, I still love their lunch menu, free flow salad and soup. Not taking pictures for that.

Then decided to go Brown Pocket since everyone hype about that. I didn't order immediately cz I plan to browse through the #brownpocketdessert pictures people hash tag in Instagram, but I don't find anything pleasing. So after Mei Xun finished her Americano, we went to Chocolate Passion! Hehe..she told me there is a dessert named Chocolate Bomb, if not mistaken is from Chocolate Passion cz we can't find it from Brown Pocket menu.

This is the one that we mentioned! Although priced the same like dessert in Brown Pocket but I find it more creative in terms of presentation la, brown pocket is overrated..sien..only waffle, ice cream, whip cream and that's it. Sorry I don't buy that..lol..

Then later on I told Mei Xun we go Sephora before heading off! Guess what..they are having 20% member sales storewide! Crazy shopping spree! I can't resist when it comes to cosmetics and skin care..luckily I work for the right industry! Lol..I know the consumer behavior..cz I am one of them of course I understand clearly! Lol..

Flake Away scrub present from my dear Sin Wah..thanks dear! Bliss lid+lash wash make up remover I have mentioned how awesome it is in my previous post with eye make up remover swatches, read it if you haven't! The best eye make up remover in town! Then Tarte primer! Really impressive..I did a comparison in the store with other products swatches..think it is better than Benefit! This is the only waterproof primer in Sephora! Yayy..finally bought myself a primer!

I will go with mummy again..she wants to buy Clinique skin care..20% off leh..must buy if you use them! Yet point accumulated! *evil grin* girls always have tons of excuses when it comes to shopping! When I called Mr. Yeap told him about that, you know what he said...

I rarely update my blog recently because I think too much..I thought I shouldn't post for the sake of publish and gain traffic..I should publish anytime when I wish! Planning a trip before start working..I can foresee I won't have time for travel in the coming days. ><

50% Rebate Campaign from 23rd to 25th July in Gurney Paragon

Hey guys, I'm back to tell you about the latest promotion by Italiannies! 

They are one of my favourite Italian restaurant in the island, good news is currently they are running a three-day long 50% rebate campaign in Gurney Paragon from 23rd to 25th July! Be quick, mark your calender and make reservation! The three-day long "50% rebate campaign" is being run by Italiannies in celebration of Gurney Paragon's soft launch.

Throughout the campaign period, guests will receive 50% rebate of their total bill when they dine in Italiannies. The 50% rebate can be used to offset their bill using their next visit to Chaswood's many restaurants namely, Italiannies, T.G.I.Friday's, The Apartment, Watami, Bulgogi Brothers, Laundry, Baci, Bedroom and Malones Irish Restaurant & Bar.

Bulgogi Brothers which is under Chaswood are famous for their heart shape bulgogi but sadly it is available only in KL. Hopefully they will launch in Penang soon but I guess the opening of Italiannies would be a great start to "test the water" in Penang. Lol..

Papa's Day Celebration at Morganfield's Gurney Paragon

Yesterday is papa's big day aka Father's Day! Haha..to all the greatest dad in the world,

Knew my dad love ribs so was asking him to try out ribs in the Morganfield's Paragon. But he said he prefer the one in Chicago Rib's..lol..

I don't really fancy TGI, Morganfield, Euro Deli's food..perhaps American style of food like burger, sandwiches is never comes to my liking. I would prefer pasta than burgers. :-(

Thick and savory seafood stew served with toasted baguette. 

I knew stew is soup typed but never expected it to be served this way. o.O It doesn't looks like main course anyway and is too expensive with only a few squids, a few slices of fish, two prawns with RM30 above! Luckily this is the free meal for Father's Day if not customers gonna complain this gao gao! And we all think it tasted like having hokkien mee soup. Lol..not worth at all la!

Halved chicken marinated with spicy tequila, lime paprika & char-grilled. Served with crispy French fries & coleslaw.

Just a normal grilled chicken I would say, nothing special..

Smokehouse Bacon Cheeseburger RM24.90

Grilled and glazed with Hickory BBQ sauce, topped with Cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and crispy pork bacon.

Normal though. 

All the food taken yesterday isn't that important! What matters is the quality time spent with family during the dinner! I love them so much..♥

With the beloved dad, although I knew he don't really like the food but he is happy throughout the dinner! ♥

Erm..overall the food isn't up to our expectations. So sorry to say that no second visit again.  

Food is way too normal and nothing much to highlight about. 

Anyway we enjoy our Father's Day dinner spending quality time together..purposely blog about it to commemorate this day! Never wanted to forget something that is so meaningful to us.

A'more di merrier At Italiannies Gurney Paragon

Was looking for some nice place to catch up with the girls, have no idea where to choose already, although people always say Penang has lots of good food but I really run out of ideas on any new places for gatherings or dinner at this moment. Anyone has any good recommendations? Lol..mind to share with me? 

I knew many cafes and restaurants in Penang but I don't really intend to try them all unless it is highly rated or recommendation by friends.  

So, last week as usual girl friends was asking me where to eat..lol..thinking of going to Sushi Zento or Italiannies Paragon. Heard that food in Italiannies KL was nice so we have made up our mind to go for Italiannies. Anyway it was a pleasant experience dining here. 

First you will be served with french toast dipped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Those Italian style starter..lol! Is my first time trying it, not bad actually. Mei Xun keep adding the vinegar cz she claimed that the vinegar tasted too mild. Lol..

Grilled chicken breast served over cream spinach, then topped with chilled tomato caper relish.

This is the Piccolo size for a person's serving, if you intend to share with others then is better for you to order regular for two person servings! Mei Xun loves her meal but to me it was an above average. :-)

A medley of seafood sauteed in white wine, with Arborio rice simmered in mussels and clam broth.

Oh my god, I mad love this! I never try Risotto from other Italian restaurants but this is really my favourite so far. The risotto fully absorbed the white wine so every mouthful is heavenly flavoursome! Clam juice adds a rich seafood taste to the cooking broth and the seafood itself releases liquids when cooked that are absorbed into the rice finishing the dish with a deep flavour. Awesome la..I liked it! Will go back again for sure just for the Seafood Risotto! Lol..Superb!

See how huge difference is the portion comparing both of us! Lol..The Seafood Risotto is mine and the right one belongs to Mei Xun. That's the reason why you see different figure of us! Lol..I have no choice cz mine has only one type of serving!

Italiannies famous huge homemade beef meatballs, served with spaghetti in our signature marinara sauce. 

Cheng ordered chicken that is why you don't see meatballs here so I can't share with you how it taste. Anyway, this is a piccolo size but serving is huge. The perfectly cooked pasta is firm but not hard with a slight bite. Anyone who had tried their homemade meatballs before is most welcome to share your experience with us in the comment box! We would like to know how it taste! ^^

Overall it was a pleasant experience and we don't manage to try their pizza as we can't finish them all! I will certainly go back again!

It was unexpected to see the restaurant is nearly full during Friday night cz usually I don't see people in there when I passed by. Lol..So, to secure a best spot, I would advise you to make a reservation for an enjoyable dining!

Another place that I would recommend for nice pasta would be from Bella Italia..most of the Penangites know that, if you crave for pasta, go for Bella Italia! Lol..*sounds like their tagline*

Ben's arrives at Gurney Paragon Mall

Ben's is finally here in Penang! ^^

Before we went, we were dilemma don't know where to dine in for dinner, then I said hopefully Ben's is open cz I wanted to try it so badly! I had it before in KL with darling for once and the other time with Yvette and Sheau Jeng.

We walked around to choose a place for dinner like Italiannies, Lunarich but end up we decided to go for Ben's in St. Jo! But we thought Italiannies would be our choice in the next visit..heard people said is nice though. I am so excited to dine in Ben's once again and this time is in Penang. By the way, I just done a case study on BIG group. The boss, Benjamin Yong is also the founder of Delicious. :-)

The indoor area I could said is quite small. This is all you can see on the number of dining tables so better make reservation for dining indoor.

Only a long table at this section. So you can see it is pretty small but again pretty and cosy ambience.

The marshmallow looked so heavenly on top of the cake! If we didn't ordered the soup, we might grab a slice of cake. :-( I shall try out either Rocky Road Cake or Chocolate Truffle Torte on my next visit.

Chan-Grilled Seafood Spaghettini RM25.90

Jeng claimed that this is too oily, after she finish half of it, we can see that the plate is full of olive oil. We told the waitress about that and hopefully she reviewed it to the chef. She thought that this pasta is much better in Ben's Pavilion. 

Jeng ordered again the same dish she had before in Ben's Pavilion cz she miss the taste.

Yvette's food of the night. Ample portion of minced beef, cheese, and bolognese sauce. We think that the minced beef is quite rough..perhaps we expect it tastes softer. 

Aloha! My food served! Next time I shall ordered Mushroom Lasagne or Macaroni Cheese! Craving for it...but this time I ordered a Cheeseburger. :-)

The patty is very juicy and I actually prefer this among the two other main courses! 

Alright I picked the right one for myself! Hehe..

We are all happy with our food! Finally we have Ben's in Penang! Hehe..

Can Plan b be the next?! 

Overall the service was attentive, food selection is vast but there are still room of improvement for Ben's at Paragon like the greasy pasta and minced beef was slightly too rough for lasagne. Besides, the indoor area is quite small so easily got fully booked.

So better call for reservation to avoid disappointment!
